Mountain Biking Keen for a more active adventure? Our team has joined with local partners to identify incredible mountain biking routes through the stunning scenery of Southern Greenland. Walking/Hiking Each shore landing is an excellent opportunity for you to explore the terrain on foot. Travelers are split into groups based on hiking ability and area of interest, giving everyone a satisfying hour or two of exploration.
Zodiac Cruising These polar-sturdy, reinforced rubber skiffs whisk you safely from the ship to the remote shorelines and back, taking you into the shallow waters that the ship can’t reach. Touring around by Zodiac while looking out for wildlife is an intimate and relaxing way of exploring the Arctic bays and inlets.
Polar Plunge As madcap as it looks, willingly jumping into the bone-chilling Arctic waters has become a polar rite of passage —and the photo ops are priceless. Dare yourself to take the plunge.
Exclusive Heli-Landing You’ll be transported in small groups on Ultramarine ’s two twin- engine helicopters to landing sites only accessible by air. Expect stunning aerial views from your seat in the helicopter—and yet more incredible polar vistas once you land: glaciers, icebergs, remote landscapes, wildlife and more. *Select departures on Ultramarine . Sea Kayaking Sea kayaking along the rugged coastlines and through the calm bays with an experienced guide is one of the most inspiring ways to explore the pristine regions of the Arctic. Guests in the sea kayaking program typically paddle out onto the water multiple times during their expedition. This adventure option is weather-dependent. *Select departures. Paddling Excursion A guided, one-time paddle enables you to enjoy your polar surroundings from a unique and intimate perspective. Just imagine yourself gliding on a stable, sit-on-top kayak, at one with the water, experiencing the Arctic at its most tranquil. That’s the kind of memory that will last forever. *Select departures. Flightseeing Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Arctic—icebergs, glaciers, snow- capped peaks, expansive waterways, fjords—while seated comfortably in one of Ultramarine ’s two twin-engine helicopters. Tundra to Table: Inuit Culinary Experience This one-of-a-kind adventure into the culinary traditions of the Inuit in Greenland and Nunavut is hosted by Inuit chefs who are experts in Indigenous cuisine. Guests get to enjoy four courses of modern Inuit fusion-style cuisine while chefs talk about the origins of the food and elements of Inuit cooking.
